MFLA
AND STARBUCKS ONCE AGAIN DOUBLE CONTRIBUTIONS DURING
THIRD ANNUAL MUSICAL INSTRUMENT DONATION DRIVE
MFLA teamed up with St. Louis Starbucks Coffee locations
for the third consecutive year in 2005 for a musical
instrument donation drive. The drive kicked off Friday,
Sept. 9 and ran through Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005. 27
Starbucks locations in the city of St. Louis and the
surrounding counties of St. Louis, St. Charles and
Jefferson accepted donations of used or new musical
instruments from customers. More than 200 instruments
and musical accessories were collected – once
again more than doubling the total collected in the
2004 Starbucks drive.
Each Starbucks customer donating an instrument received
a free beverage – and the first 100 persons
donating an instrument also received a $5 Starbucks
gift card. Donors received a tax deduction from MFLA
for the value of each donated instrument. All instruments
collected during the drive will be refurbished as
needed, are being placed in local school and community
music programs serving disadvantaged kids.

instruments and purchase needed accessories such
as reeds, strings and sheet music. Donation forms
